Hockey Brothers
You play because you love it
Hockey is your it
The cold breeze on your face
As you glide through the ice
Its almost as it heist
The look of a warrior on your face
As you smash someone like a vase
someone yells uh oh there he goes!
Next thing you know your off your toes
Blood swear and tears
No breaths and angry jeers
Victorious screams and defeated tears
You whisper in my ear
"Its about playoffs and beards"
The crowd goes crazy as the buzzer beeps
The only thing left is his two front teeth
He wins and celebrates
The only thing left is to put on the brakes
Take a look back and see the memories
Its black and white, yet crystal clear
Its Hockey. And that's why you are here
I really like how you rhymed words as you went through the poem. I believe that you did really good with this poem, reading it I can almost imagine different parts of the game. My favorite line is "Its black and white, yet crystal clear" it contradicts but that's why it works really well in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great poem. I like how you were able to make it about your hockey. Even though they aren't blood related they're still family in a certain way. I can imagine all the blood and sweat put in at practice to get where you were. Good Job Andrew!
ReplyDeleteI liked the poem and used your passion for the sport into a poem. It shows the emotions shared within different moments of the sport: ""Its about playoffs and beards"The crowd goes crazy as the buzzer beeps The only thing left is his two front teeth" I really enjoyed reading this poem.
