Snapshot Three
One Interesting Summer
This is a poem about my grandparents in California
I used to go out there every summer
When i had to come back home it was a bummer
I didn't want to go back to school
I thought being out there was way more cool
We have so many memories
I could go on telling them for centuries
One time we went horse riding in the mountains
It was only 12 so it was scary
I fell off the big horse, this was the month of February
It left a bruise the color of a strawberry
I ended up being okay
I guess you could say all this was just horseplay
I have a memory with my grandma
It was when I was learning how to swim
I went and jumped in the deep end
I didn't know how to swim so I started to descend
You could say this was a very memorable weekend
She had to jump in and save me
I knew she would save me it was a guarantee
I got out of the water and started crying
Her clothes were soaked it was really terrifying
After we got out the calm pool look liked a mirror
I had never been in more fear
My little old grandma had saved me
Her hair was so blonde it was a golden flowing river
I was so cold I started to shiver
I went back inside
I got a towel and was all dry
Hello Logan, It is good to see another poem that is not about someone's mom. However a lot of people do hold their mothers in a special light so I understand that. Anyhow I really loved how you poem captured your grandmother and family trip. Especially this line "Her hair was so blonde it was a golden flowing river". I thought that this was a great line and it really put the image of a golden river in my mind winding and weaving like someone's hair. Really cool line. Also do you have trouble swimming? Sucks to drown but I know the feeling is why I ask. Once when I was young my uncle threw me into a pool and this led me to stay out of pools for a good two years. Course now I love swimming but hope that you do to.
