Journal Seven
My sister is still in college at Wright State she is going into being a nurse. She has a job at a hospital down by Dayton called Miami Valley. She works from 7am to around 7pm most days of the week. She was led to being a nurse because our grandmother was a nurse when she used to have a job. Also my sister wants to go into sports medicine when she is a nurse, she used to run track and cross country in high school but it was too stressful to do it in college so she only did it her freshman year of college. Shes a senior now and is doing very well a the hospital shes at.
The introduction talked about their life and his wife a lot. The author really emphasizes how much he loves his wife and what he would do for her. The purpose of this writing is him just giving us a little back ground on what’s going to happen in the book and how it is different stories of what they see in their future to do when they get jobs. I learned from the introduction is that to love everyone that is in your life too the fullest. Also that it is good to have a plan for when you get older and want to get a life long job at some point. Also its okay to change up jobs and look into multiple different jobs before you pick the right job for you.
My favorite profile was Hermans Heyn because he was really strong forward on what he wanted to accomplish. Also I like science and astronomy stuff too. I’ve also wanted too learn more about space and the planets and everything about them. I am going into the major film and editing but I still want too look into the planets and how they work and what happens on them. Also i leaned about this occupation is that it does take a lot of work for it, takes a long time to study and read up on the different astronomy books. His main factors that led up to this job is his learning disability it really struggled him to pick a job that he could do that would not effect it. “no learning disability there. So at the age thirteen or fourteen I started getting books out of the library and did a lot of reading on astronomy” (Isay 12). He finally realizes that astronomy was a good fit for him because he could work around his disability do this occupation.
Your sister sounds like a very hard worker, I for sure couldn't work 12 hour days most of the week. Are you guys close? I thought the introduction showed the same thing you said about how it's okay to quit a job for a new one that you're happy in. I really love astronomy too, Herman's was defiantly one of my favorite profiles as well.
ReplyDeleteHerman's profile was my favorite as well and I find a intrest in astronomy as well. Your sister seems/sounds like someone who is motivated in her work and her studies. She sounds like she enjoys what she is doing. I agree with your thought of the purpose for writing the book based on the introduction.
ReplyDeleteMy sister is actually about to graduate nursing school. I agree when you said that Herman Heyn was really strong forward of his goals because I think he was too.
