My brother and I used to have a really good relationship when we were very young, but as we got older things changed until here more recently. We would fight all the time and he was doing bad things so I decided to not talk to him even though he was right across the hall from me. There were times where I would talk to him everyday about video games, then after times where we wouldn’t talk for 6 months at a time. Looking back as our relationship is getting better I think of these battles we would have with all of our friends on Minecraft. They were so much fun, but I didn’t realize that once these battles were done that it was the only thing that kept me and my brother close.

My brother and I were not very close
Always fighting about something stupid
The hatred between us was more than most
No one could get us to love, Not even cupid
Minecraft brought us somewhat together
Many battles that would last hours
It didn’t matter the weather
It was about whoever had the most power
Nothing mattered more
Then mining ore
With each other
Playing till our fingers got sore
Cherish those moments you have
You never realize what you exactly you had
Hi Mason, I enjoyed reading your poem, and I have to say I love the line, "No one could get us to love, Not even cupid" I that was really clever. The meaning of your poem really stuck out as-well It made me think about what I have in life and what I appreciate about it.
ReplyDeleteWow mason it is crazy to think what my life would be like if I did not appreciate and develop the relationship that I currently hold with my brother. Your story is sad but I hope that you and your brother repair your broken bond. My favorite line in your piece is "Cherish the moments you have" I really do appreciate this line. It means that you do care for your brother and hopefully he sees that from you. I know that without games I to would have a strenuous relationship with my brother. Hope that you find a way to reach him.
