My Name:
Although my name is spelled differently, the origin is transferred to a
Northern English surname derived from Hale or Hales (residing in a nook, recess, or remote valley).
It has also been suggested that it derives from the Old English elements heg (hay) and leah
(clearing or meadow).
For me, my name has pros and cons. The pros are, for some reason people always say they love
my name and couldn’t picture me with any other name. I always get the nicknames like
hails, haily-bailey, and I’ve even been called hay-hay before. People have said my
nicknames are short and fun! The main challenge I face when it comes to my name is, I can
never find it anywhere! Not on a keychain, or a hat, or a bracelet. Absolutely nothing! It gets annoying but, the spelling of the name Haily is as unique as a snowflake, they’re all different. The other challenge is, many people spell it wrong. If I had a dollar for every time someone spelled it incorrectly, I’d be sitting pretty good right now. It’s always “Hailey” or “Haley” or “Hayley”. I’ve even had someone spell it with a “G” before. On technology, it always says it’s spelled wrong. When my family tries to contact me and they ask Siri to call or text me, for some unknown reason, Siri adds a “D” to my name. But I believe that the name Haily, no matter how it’s spelled, is a name that will sharply grab your attention. I feel there is a lot of value in someone's name.
Like knowing what their parents named them, why that name? What’s the meaning? Is it a family name?
There is always a background to a name. And their nicknames, like did they choose the nickname or
did their friends choose it? I think it’s interesting knowing about someone’s name and the ins and outs to it! Yes. something like Haily will do.
I think your name is spelled very uniquely and it's very cool. I have the same struggle about keychains, hats and bracelets. Aubrey is nowhere to be found on any of those! I can't believe someones spelled your name with a G before either.
ReplyDeleteI love your nicknames they are definitely short and fun. I personally like to be called by my nickname Jobert because it makes me feel unique and different from my real name Joseph. Nowadays I respond more to when people call me Jobert than Joseph.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people with this name but not spelt the way you do which is so cool. Also my name is always spelt wrong on keychains so I can’t find any. Most people call me bri just as a nickname. Most people spell my name with an E not an I and I get frustrated about it all the time.
ReplyDeleteHi Haily, I love how you spell your name, not many people spell it that way. I like the nicknames people have given you, they are fun and unique. I know exactly how you feel about never being able to find your name on anything. I also have my name spelled incorrectly all the time.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with my name has a similar situation yet opposite outcome. I find my name everywhere and almost everyone had that name in high school. It was difficult.
