Journal Two

Hello I’m Grant I graduated from Delaware Hayes, and I commute to school whenever we have it in person that is. My interesting fact is that during a blood drive at Hayes I donated blood and passed out. I was walking when I passed out so I hit my chin against the gym floor and had to get stitches. I work at the Valvoline in Powell on the weekends. I enjoy learning about cars because I find it amazing in how they function. My favorite class is chemistry because I think it is really interesting and it can be kind of easy. I’m majoring in Chemical Engineering because it sounds like it would be a fun career path. By the way, don’t mind the picture of me it was the only one I had on my iPad.

In the book The House On Mango Street the chapter that has stuck out the most to me is the one about her siblings. I like this chapter because I have siblings, and reading about her siblings reminded me of my own. I feel this section could be important because her siblings and the age gaps between them can be a cause of conflict within the family. The part I find most interesting is where she says “Until then I am a red balloon, a balloon tied to an anchor”(Cisneros 9). This quote caught my eye because it has a surprising amount of imagery using little words. When I read it, it almost sounded as if she was helpless or had a melancholic attitude towards her situation.

  1. Dang interesting comment man, seems like you recovered well though! I also enjoy Cars and wonder who is your favorite manufacturer? Anyhow I wish you well with Chemical Engineering, I am going for a Computer engineering major myself.
