Snapshot One: My Name
To start off with my name is Andrew George Vidrick, the name Andrew is Greek for “warrior” so makes sense why it's my name. I personally really like my whole name. My parents gave me the name Andrew because my great grandfather was named Andrew also and he was an outgoing man, so my parents think I got a lot of my character traits from him, like how I'm strong as a bull or nice as an angel my parents would say, but my friends would say in times of crisis, I'm dumb as a rock. My last name Vidrick is Slovakian, my grandmother on my dad's side came over in the early 1900’s on a boat to the united states to start a new life.
A lot of people call me by my last name though because we have made a really big impact in the hockey world around Columbus, so must people know me by “Vidrick” and not Andrew. I think it's really cooled how my two brothers and I made a big impact with other last name because coming out of Ohio and being good at hockey is a difficult thing to do because there is not much competition here. One challenge I have always had with my last name though was people would always think I said Vedrick or call me something like Viddick, it never bothered me, but then people would actually start to think It was those after a while, that was just mostly my guy friends trying to get a joke out. You can go by any name you really want to be now since its 2020 so, Yes. Something Theodore Roosevelt will do.
Hello Andrew! You have a very interesting last name, and I also like the meaning for your first name. It seems like it fits you since you play hockey since that a very competitive sport. It also seems like your brothers have lead a great path for you and you're following in their footsteps. Anyways it was great reading your snapshot. I'll see you in class Theodore
ReplyDeleteWho said Walk softly but carry a big stick! Fitting for a hockey player!
