Journal Entry Two

Hello I’m Brianna Rittenour you can call me Bri for short. I used to play soccer when I was little. I started playing when I was four years old then I stopped in 6th grade. When I got to middle school I ran cross country and track & field. I ran until I graduated high school. I have Dyslexia and in middle school and high school I would have to do tests to see how better I’ve gotten with it. It mostly affects me when I read books I mix words up and it makes it confusing then so I get lost. It can also affect my writing, I mess up words also I switch them around and so the sentence doesn’t make sense. I have three dogs a Black Lab mix, Beagle mix, and Japanese dog. I have a bird her name is Noel she only nice to my dad. I also have a bunny because I used to be in 4-H a few years ago and would show them.

The thing that stood out the most in the book The House on Mango Street was how often they kept moving to different homes. Also how they don’t have the best living life where ever they go but there parents still try to make the best of it. In Delaware there are some rough spots downtown where people live and I know some of them. My favorite passage so far in the book is the chapter about her name and how she tells us all the different meanings of it and how she has the same name as her grandmother.

  1. Hello Brianna my name is Mason. I'm sorry to hear about your dyslexia. I hope everything gets better for you. I like how you have a lot of animals. the only animal that I have is a mean cat. He won't let anyone touch him. I also like the point that you brought up about them moving houses. This can have a huge effect on kids as they grow up. There are some rough spots in every city and that's just the way life goes.

  2. I ran track too! I ran the 300 meter hurdles. What was your event? It's super cool you have so many pets, I love the name Noel for your bird. I had a corgi named Harlee but he unfortunately passed not too long ago in May, he was 15.
