Journal Two

Hello everyone, my name is Mason Faux. A fun fact about me is that I can name every country in the world. I just had a lot of free time in study hall and I’m really interested in geography so I thought why not learn them all. I graduated from Mt. Gilead last year so this is my first year in college. The major that I am going for is middle childhood education. After I get that degree I want to get my master’s in education administration so that I can become an athletic director/ vice principal for a high school.

One theme that I thought that pretty substantial is the fact that you need to dream big. She has talked about how her their parents have said that they will get a real house. This is important not only in the story but in life as well. You always need to be working toward something no matter how big or small. I have experienced this on different scales. One way would be to get my golf score lower then it is right now. It’s not that important but it something to work towards. Another one is just working on graduating college and starting my life out. These are some important years of your life and you need to start them of right. A sentence on page 9 that stood out to me is “Until then I am a red balloon, a balloon tied to an anchor.” This means that she wants to fly high and make her dreams come true but she is stuck in the place that she calls home. Which is sad but she can't let that set her back.

  1. Hey mason, My name is Andrew. I think that it is cool that you know every country in the world, means you are probably good with knowing places and what they are like. I graduated from Olentangy Liberty High school and I see you are from Mt.Gilead, so it will be nice to get to know some new places and learn about how their schools were. I also find it amazing you are trying to do some in your future that will help other people succeed and become better people. You seem like a good guy and I am excited to get to know you throughout the year! It was great reading your blog.

  2. Hi Mason, It's really interesting that you can name every country I know I can't do that. Since you like geography what is one country you would love to travel to, mine would be Australia. I also agree with how you said "You always need to be working toward something no matter how big or small." I think it is important that you brought this up and its something I always try to do.
